It adds a good chocolatey and roasty taste and has a great aroma.February 2, 2014Used in a rye stout with good resultsI recently used this malt in a rye stout and it came out very well. The rye 'spiciness' still comes through but with a nice, mildy toasty, chocolate-like character added. I would recommend it in small quantities in most beers unless you're going for something really rye-forward.January 22, 2014
