Product Details

American Oak Infusion Spiral Medium Toast has less tannins but more bouquet, so it will impart more aroma than flavor. It has a warm, sweet character with strong vanilla overtones. Infusion Spirals are easy to use, time saving, economical, environmentally friendly, as well as being high-quality. Several years ago, Russell Karasch of the Barrel Mill in Avon Minnesota came up with a wonderful idea: Create an oak alternative that delivers as good or better results than the American and French Oak barrels currently used to create premium wines. And he did just that. Not only did he create this perfectly toasted oak alternative, but he did so in a way that gives you unrivaled taste and aroma, while saving you time and your bottom line. Infusion Spirals are made of ultra premium American & French Oakno sapwood, no bark, no knots. This unique process distributes the flavor evenly and can fully flavor a barrel in as little as six weeks. American Oak Spiral (2-pack Medium Toast) 1" x 8"

spirals

They are the best for adding oak favors! When I ordered I got free shipping and 10% off, well I got free shipping but NO 10% when I got the bill. Bummed.
I use these to age white/clear tequila and in 6 weeks I have Anjeho which is aged in oak barrels over a year.

Great for cask-flavor

I used this in a batch of beer instead of the oak chips. It was much cleaner and produced a very nice woodiness to the final product. It was a bit difficult to extract from the carboy, but that made up for the snall shavings left with the oak chips. The flavor addition was subtle, but definitely there.
