My Porter ended up with a lower gravity reading than it should have._x000D_No problem._x000D_I added in a bag of this extract and got it back up to where it needed to be._x000D_The Porter tasted great and was nice and chewy.
I like to use this malt in my darker beers and brown. Nice flavor and body to it.
I had a giant bag of light DME, but finally ran out so I tried this for my starter. It works great and saves me a couple of days because I've gotten the same results with two steps versus the three steps I was doing before.
I use this for almost all my yeast starters. Just use 4 cups of water to 1 cup of DME (4:1 ratio). Boil for ten minutes, cool, pitch liquid yeast on stir plate for 24-48 hours. Can't beat it! Improved ALL my beers. No more yeast stressing!
