Product Details

For the first time, the Mini-Jet has a self-priming pump—turn it on and it will draw liquid from your carboy or fermenter directly into the pump and through the filter pads, with no siphoning, no fussing around, and no mess! You get brilliantly polished wine in only minutes, and you never have to worry about stopping and starting the filter if you need to: turn it back on and it simply starts where it left off! You can bottle your clear wine with the happy knowledge that it will be stable in the bottle and look great for years to come.

Clear, fined wine is very pretty, and shows well in a glass. But filtered wine has a diamond sparkle to it that catches the eye, and looks more like a commercial wine. It’s the difference between a freshly washed car and a freshly waxed car. Both are great, but one is noticeably more appealing.

Mini-Jet filters use three different grades of pads for increasing levels of polish. Whichever filter pad you use, we strongly recommend using the Buon Vino pre-filter setup with your Mini-Jet if your wine contains oak chips or powder, or if it contained grape skins. All small pumps are designed specifically to move liquids with low levels of suspended material, and the small, efficient and easy-to-clean pre-filter helps ensure your pump head maintains maximum efficiency as you filter your delicious wine.

I like my Mini Jet

I've put around 6 or 7 six gallon kits through my Mini-Jet and love it. I generally filter only once with a set of #2's. Puts a nice polish on the wine and it gets easier each time as I get better with my hose management : ). You have to soak your filters in clean water for a minute and run a couple of gallons of citric acid water through to flush out the filters and sanitize prior to filtering. There is some leakage into the overflow tray (as designed) but I generally drain thru a sterilized tube and gallon catch jar and then refilter the overflow so it's not a big deal. It could be a little more stable (3 legs isn't the best) with a 4th leg or wider base. I've also found that over tightening the filter nuts can cause more leakage, so I usually start light and take them up slowly. I buy bulk #2 filter packages that come in 10 packs of 3. Good investment to give your wine a nice professional look for a decent price.

Pleased With Filtration Result

Loved it. First use went very well. Polished my swill and made it look purdy.

Why would someone build a pump with a trough to catch what leaks out of the filter system? Why not have a system that didn’t leak?

Bon Vino Mini Jet Filter

Easy to use and does a very good job. “Clear" white wine becomes much clearer. Only trouble on first use was that the hoses are about impossible to straighten out enough.
