Fits standard 3, 5, 6, or 6.5 gallon glass carboys. Put a racking tube through the center spout, fit the cap over the mouth of the full carboy, then blow hard into the second hole to prime a siphon. To use the Carboy Cap: Push a racking cane through the center tube, place on the top of your carboy, blow into the other tube, and a siphon is easily started. May also be used for blow-off when fermenting. Attach a length of 3/8" ID tubing to the hood, and run the tubing into a bucket of water. When used this way, the carboy cap takes the place of an airlock.
Note: This item is only compatible with glass carboys in 3, 5, 6 or non-acid 6.5 gallon sizes.
Used to remove airlock and use tin foil for cold crash now I just sanitize and pop this on top. Havent got the chance to ferment with it yet but appears you could just stick a hose right in and run to a container of water and never remove your top for cold crash again.

Better options are available
They do work but better of just buying the silicone waterless airlocks, they are magical.

Great for use as a blow off tube
Works as it should. Fits well on a standard glass carbon, even under an over zealous fermentation as a blow off tube.
