Product Details

Jet-black in the tradition of Ireland's most popular and well-known beers, this stout has a pronounced roasty, coffee-like flavor and aroma, imparted by a generous helping of roasted barley.

Arguably Ireland's most famous export, dry stout has a loyal following all over the world. Our kit has a pronounced roasty, coffee-like flavor and aroma, imparted by a generous helping of roasted barley. Hop bitterness enhances the dryness, and the medium body makes for a very drinkable dark beer. This is one of the most popular styles among home brewers; after a few pints, you'll understand why.

Not designed for a 5-gallon yield

The recipe is okay, but let's be realistic, this kit provides a 5-gallon gross. By the time you separate the trub from your wort, the yield is under 4 gallons. The taste of the beer is okay, but I doubt that it is better than the leading dry stouts on the market. I gave it one more star than it deserved, as it was on sale.

Order came in fast, and all turned out well.but directions were lacking, luckily I have home brewers to call on. No specifics included

Dry Irish Stout Kit instructions were flimsy

Not an Kit for beginner full grain brewers. Only gave minimal instructions for brewing times and did’t provide how much water to use to aquire the desired specific gravity.

I really really like Irish Red Ale, and my wife really likes Dry Irish Stout

We both love these Irish ales, so I brew them over and over — what more is there to say?

Excellent

This was my first ever all-grain brew and it turned out fantastic. The flavors changed with age in the keg, but was always a delicious easy drinking stout. Hints of chocolate and smoky flavors at times. I miss it already
