Rice Hulls are used to give your mash an effective filter bed.
While they may be used in any all-grain batch for this purpose, they should definitely be used when mashing large amounts of flaked adjuncts or wheat malt.

They were rice hulls...as advertised.
We always use the rice hulls for when we brew with flaked rice to prevent getting stuck in the mash. Works really well.
I would 100% order from Midwest Supplies again.
Actually will be useful in any mash with 30-40% or more of grains without hulls (wheat/rye). Helps prevent a slow/stuck sparge.
