Rice Syrup Solids are used to add alcohol and lighten the body of beers. You add them to the boil at the same time as your malt extract. This is the ingredient used in many American lagers, such as the "King" of beers.

Works good with making my lager beer
Yes believe it or not I used this to make this buds for you recipe which turned out great will use this for an upcoming wedding in which the groom said mostly my friends drink Bud and Bud light however I will also provide a chocolate milk stout yum!
Not only does it add fermentables, it thins out the beer and keeps it as light as possible. Because of the cost I only use it where I need it. For an ale I would just add more grain.
I've been experimenting with light lagers and rice is something the large breweries use to lighten the beer. It adds fermentables and lightens and thins the beer. I would use it again.
The Rice Syrup is a good addition to my lagers. It thins them, lightens them, and adds some alcohol, without affecting the flavor. I would even try it in ales, if I wanted more alcohol.
