The Super Transfer Pump with Pre-Filter is a self-priming pump with an automatic shutoff switch as 45 psi. It makes transferring your wine a breeze because it does all the work for you. All of your fermentation equipment can be on the same level now because the pump will move the wine up, down, or wherever you want it to go. The pre-filter helps prevent large sediment from getting into the pump and damaging the motor. This pump also offers an adjustable flow rate for those times when you might need more, or less, power. This unit pumps at a rate of 3.0 gallons per minute maximum, and it can run without interruption for over 90 minutes.

Had a little trouble getting the screen prefilter back in place after cleaning but over all a great variable speed pump. Love it!
The pump is more than I had hoped for the hose attachments swivel so you can position your hoses where you want them without kinks. It has pumped hundreds of gallons of vinegar for me w/o problems.
I find it much easier to do the racking the wine.works good.easy to clean.
Love this product! I use it often. It has made my life a lot easier when it comes to racking & transferring product. Worth every penny!!
Don't step up to a 60 gallon barrel if you don't have this pump or something better. Fermentation, punch down, and press don't really require special tools, but once you fill a barrel or container you can't lift, trying to precisely angle a siphon and keep it going is near impossible. I racked off the gross lees with a regular auto-siphon and it was really difficult and time consuming with 3 people. Since I didn't have the barrel elevated I honestly don't know how I would have done the second racking without a pump of some kind. Using the Super Transfer Pump, I was able to cleanly pump 65 gallons of wine (losing 2 gallons of sediment) into holding containers, move and clean the barrel and carboy, returning the wine to the clean containers in a little over 2 hours with just a little help from one person at the end. This pump and pre-filter are fast and don't require priming. Clean up is simple too. I just got it so I can't speak to durability, but if you clean it right after use, it is supposed to live a long life. The bad: 1. It is a little scary that you can't get it wet considering the environment it needs to operate in. 2. Refitting the pre-filter screen after cleaning is very tricky.
