4.9 / 5.064 ReviewsExtremely sturdy and well built. Much cheaper than in stores too. I actually wish Midwest offered an even larger diameter strainer built just like this one. Buy it. You won’t be disappointed.March 3, 2019Purchased

over 2 years agoStrainer Strains but Handle SplintersStrainer works well and is a great size. Only complaint is that the handle was very splintery due to what appears to be a manufacturer defect. The handle was not a big enough inconvenience to reduce the review or request a replacement.June 2, 2014A good strainerThis sits very nicely on top of my stainless steel brew kettle and my 6-1/2 gallon bucket fermenter. I bought it specifically to hold my grain bags above my pot while I poured hot water over them (sparging?) when making an extract with specialty grains beer kit that required this step; however I have found it useful for many other straining tasks since.March 30, 2014Keeps stuff out of your beerIts good for keeping grains and peals out of your beer. I strain my wort through it, on the way to the fermentor, while it gets aerated at the same time.February 3, 2014Removed hops bits , seeds, and other stuffI drain into the strainer from my ball valve. It helps aerate the wort and it catches all kinds of stuff I dont want in my fermentor. Every couple of gallons I close the valve, and dump out the strainer.November 16, 2013
