Prevent your newly brewed batch from infection by sanitizing the equipment with Star San. This acid-based, non-toxic sanitizer is effective and easy-to-use, with no-rinsing required. Sanitize fermenters, vessels and more without having to wait (like with bleach) and rinse. Foaming action lets you know its working!
- Works fast, requires only 1-2 minute contact time
- Foaming action sanitizes larger vessels and gets into nooks, crevices and cracks
- Odorless and flavorless, will not taint beer or wine
- No rinsing needed when using recommended dilution
- Use only one ounce per 5 gallons of water
Note: Any foam that is left over in your carboy or keg will not harm beer or you as it is safe and non-toxic. You can minimize the foaming effect by adding Star San to the vessel after the water has been added, and by siphoning as opposed to pouring the solution between vessels. Allow extra time for draining.

5.0 / 5.0228 ReviewsEvery brewer should have this!I keep this stuff in a 32 oz. bottle. I can instantly sanitize anything. For my digital thermometer, I wrap the probe in a paper towel, then soak it in the sanitizer solution. It will save you so much money, and possibly your batch of beer too.February 25, 2013Best sanitizer, but mind the cap.As many have noted, this is the best sanitizer going. Lasts a long time, very economical, does not stain like iodine based, no off smells or flavor issues, and a handy bottle designed for measuring. One big caution: mind the cap. I have two or three bottles of this and on all, the cap has cracked. One bottle leaked in my Stainless brew pot while in storage, etching the bottom of my pot.December 29, 2016Great sanitizer but beware of poor cap designPlain and simple, this stuff works great. Unfortunately, the cap design is really terrible considering how corrosive this chemical is. _x000D__x000D_One would assume that you could simply pick this up at the store, place the bag on the floor of your car and drive home to brew happily. Think again, treat this bottle like it's an open coffee cup in your car (or under your sink). It will leak from the cap, even with the factory seal, and eat right through your carpet. Every bottle of this stuff I've ever bought has leaked from the cap.December 15, 2012Best Sanitizer! This stuff works great! No smells or off-flavors and love the no rinse foaming. Great to put into a spray bottle as well!October 8, 2013Easy to use and lasts a very long timeI keep some in a spray bottle and spray down things. I mix up some and keep it for a few months in a bucket. When I need to sanitize other buckets I pour it in, swish it around, and pour it back. I may make a new batch 2-3 times a year._x000D_Great stuff.October 12, 2013Star San is the bestSwitching to Star San was the best thing that ever happened to my brewing. It really speeds up the process. Use a spray bottle for a last minute spray on anything or to spray the inside of bottles before bottling. Check out the podcast for even more ideas and DON'T FEAR THE FOAM!October 30, 2012Best sanitizer you'll ever buy! This product disinfects without chlorine flavors, without staining your plastics, and last a very long time. With the concentrated formula one bottle with last you many batches to come of great tasting non-infected beer. Just a little of this in a spray bottle and you can sanitize for days without off flavors and at a high return of investment when you consider the cost of poor sanitation.February 24, 2013Excellent and Efficient SanitizerI use this sanitizer very often, mainly while brewing but it works great for anything. It is affordable and can last you quite a long time if you don't waste it and use the correct dosage.February 24, 2013Works like a charmThis stuffy worked like a charm. I've had issues with sanitizing in the past, but not since I started using Star San._x000D__x000D_The package design is also very efficient.November 3, 2013

Browse 4 questions Browse 4 questions and 4 answersDo you work in beverages glass bottlrle' s letter removeBEST ANSWER: Soaking in Star San is one way of removing labels from glass bottles, although a dedicated cleaner like PBW can be more effective.Do bottles need to drain and dry after being sanitized with this or can they be filled immeadiately?BEST ANSWER: We sanitize all of our bottles first, for convenience, and put them on the bottle rack and then start filling as soon as the last bottle is sanitized. We do not leave them to dry before bottling. Is it usable on plastics such as maple sap tanks and lines?BEST ANSWER: I would think this would work well on sap lines and etc. just make sure you RINSE the lines well with plenty of water. It is kinda expensive though if you buy in any quantity. I know a lot of people use isopropyl alcohol (cheap and available at local stores or in volume on net). Plus, If it is not rinsed entirely, it will boil out and not leave any taste in your syrup). I just use hot water. Whatever you use, DONT USE BLEACH! Squirrels love bleach and will chew your lines, buckets etc. and you will be replacing equipment! What is the shelf life?
