Prevent your newly brewed batch from infection by sanitizing the equipment with Star San. This acid-based, non-toxic sanitizer is effective and easy-to-use, with no-rinsing required. Sanitize fermenters, vessels and more without having to wait (like with bleach) and rinse. Foaming action lets you know its working!

  • Works fast, requires only 1-2 minute contact time
  • Foaming action sanitizes larger vessels and gets into nooks, crevices and cracks
  • Odorless and flavorless, will not taint beer or wine
  • No rinsing needed when using recommended dilution
  • Use only one ounce per 5 gallons of water

Note: Any foam that is left over in your carboy or keg will not harm beer or you as it is safe and non-toxic. You can minimize the foaming effect by adding Star San to the vessel after the water has been added, and by siphoning as opposed to pouring the solution between vessels. Allow extra time for draining.

This product is only eligible for ground shipment within the contiguous United States.

Didn't have very good directions. Lots of foaming which I thought I had to completely rinse, now I know better.

Star san is the best
I love this product. I had used a powder sanitizer before and it wasnt the same. Star san dissolves instantly in hot water. The great thing about star san is the fact that you can use it again.

the best for beginners
Star San is definitely for all beginners. I am new to brewing
and have used Star San to brew 3 different 5gallon brews.
As a beginner I was worried about a bad batch due to
Infected beer as I had read a lot and watched a bunch of videos
about brewing beer and everything emphasized cleanliness.
I started out with the 8 oz size and after 3 successful batches
of home brew I bought the 32 oz size as I have 3 kit's to brew soon
I like the no taste of it and that it cleans and sanitizes in just a couple
of minutes the foam doesn't bother me at all and dissipates quick.
I see where some people use it over and over and I guess that's
ok me being new to brewing I don't want to take that chance.
I make a new batch for every brew and that has worked out great
it don't take a lot to make a batch for cleaning I would rather
spent a little more on my cleaner than ruin a 30 or 40 dollar kit

What is the shelf life?
Barbara T on Aug 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The concentrate lasts a really long time. Diluted I re-use my Star San and change it out about every 2 months. I keep it in a bottling bucket with a lid so it's ready to go all the time. As long as the pH is good it's ok to continue using.
Do you work in beverages glass bottlrle' s letter remove
L A on Apr 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Soaking in Star San is one way of removing labels from glass bottles, although a dedicated cleaner like PBW can be more effective.
can I use Star San on stainless steel tanks?
A shopper on Oct 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, in fact my Ss Chronical fermenter recommends that you passivate it with a strong Star San solution. I use Star San to sanitize fermenter, keg, bottles, hoses, etc. made of any material.
Do bottles need to drain and dry after being sanitized with this or can they be filled immeadiately?
Colby F on Nov 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We sanitize all of our bottles first, for convenience, and put them on the bottle rack and then start filling as soon as the last bottle is sanitized. We do not leave them to dry before bottling.
Can you use this on plastic top cork tops? How would you recommend sanitizing black plastic top tasting cork?
A shopper on Sep 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it is fine to use. It is a no rinse sanitizer. jut use it at the recommended dilution and dry.
Is it usable on plastics such as maple sap tanks and lines?
A shopper on Apr 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I would think this would work well on sap lines and etc. just make sure you RINSE the lines well with plenty of water. It is kinda expensive though if you buy in any quantity. I know a lot of people use isopropyl alcohol (cheap and available at local stores or in volume on net). Plus, If it is not rinsed entirely, it will boil out and not leave any taste in your syrup). I just use hot water. Whatever you use, DONT USE BLEACH! Squirrels love bleach and will chew your lines, buckets etc. and you will be replacing equipment!
