DetailsEl Dorado is an exceptional new dual purpose hop with both high Alpha Acid and intense flavors and aromas. As a bittering hop El Dorado lends a firm but balanced bitterness. This hop has bright tropical fruit flavors and aromas of pear, watermelon, and stone fruit. 14-16% Alpha Acid.

4.9 / 5.015 ReviewsUsed in an IPANice fruity flavor, sort of like melon, and not like the usual citrusy taste and aroma._x000D_I did a hope stand and a dry hop to get the most aroma I could out of them.March 4, 2014Fruity but not overwhelmingThese hops produce an AMAZING flavor. I have used these as both flavor and aroma hops, and the Midwest description is spot-on. The most prominent (and in my opinion, most interesting) flavor to come off of these was watermellon, backed up by lighter notes of things like nectarines and pears._x000D__x000D_In general, this hop tends to produce a milder flavor than other west coast hops (powerful Cascade and Chinook come to mind). Combined with the relatively lighter flavors (watermellon, as opposed to pine or grapefruit), this hop makes for some pleasantly subtle beersFebruary 8, 2014Nice bittering hopTropical taste and the bitterness isn't as rough as some of the other hops like Warrior. I added them during the sparge so they would give extra flavor and bitterness.January 15, 2014Bittering hopI first used them in a kit I bought here several months back. Nice fruity flavor. Good as bittering hops, and as dry hops/December 18, 2013Great hop!I stumbled onto these just sifting through reviews on here & they peaked my curiosity. Ordered a few ounces, used them in a Munich SmASh IPA & they certainly lived up to all of the good reviews I'd read. _x000D__x000D_Smooth & hoppy with a 'not overwhelming' fruity characteristic is how I'd describe them. Excited to have a new hop variety to get carried away with.December 8, 2013Good IPA hopI made a beer using only El Dorado hops that came great. The bitterness isn't quite as strong as other hops, but it was compensated for with a tropical taste and aroma. Its a good choice for dry hopping. I would use this again in an IPA .November 7, 2013Smooth, candly like goodnessThis hop reminds me of Amarillo; smooth, candy-like jawbreaker fruity flavors.November 3, 2013I like the aromaI just had an IPA using this hop and it was very good. It tasted great and had a nice aroma. Its well suited for IPAs and I will use it for a pale ale I'm brewing next month.October 21, 2013Good aroma hopThese have a nice floral smell. I add them after flame out, and after I do a brief whirlpool. I let them sit for 20 minutes then remove them and chill the wort. Lots of floral aroma that way.September 29, 2013Perfect in an IPAI just tried and IPA using this hop and it's great. Great aroma and great hoppy taste, different from other hops I'm used to. Nice fruity flavor, especially when dry hopped.July 31, 2013
