Calcium Chloride is used by brewers to lower the pH, and add water hardness to the beer. Use up to 1 teaspoon per 5 gallons before the boil.

I bought the 1lb bag and it has been a great addition to my all-grain brewing, and nearly impossible to beat for this price! The only thing that could improve this is if it came in a resealable package or bottle. It comes in a standard vacuum sealed bag that you either have to reseal every time or find another way to store.
Great price for an essential salt. Without this my all grain beer would not taste as good. This package lasts a lot of brews too.
Its the best way to add calcium to your mash water. I use a teaspoon for every 5 gallons.
I just recently got into adjusting my water and it has made a WORLD of difference in my beer. The small 2 oz. bottle is very fair in price and will go a LONG way when you consider that you will be adding 1.0-2.0 grams per batch of beer at the most. The bottles are also reusable and provide a good seal so the product doesn't soak up too much moisture between uses. Highly recommended.
