DetailsThe Fermenting Heater can be safely adhered to your carboy, brew bucket, or conical fermenter to assist with fermentation temperature control. It distributes 40 watts of heat gently over an area of 2 square feet, raising the temperature of your fermenter by 5-20 degrees.
Electrical tape is recommended to secure the Fermenting Heater to your fermenter. For the ultimate temperature control, use the Fermenting Heater in conjunction with a Stopper Thermowell and a ThermoStar® Two Way Temperature Controller. This combination will allow you to control your fermentation temperatures to within a few degrees!

4.3 / 5.032 ReviewsFermentation HeaterTakes a technical adjustment to the heater controller, but once adjusted, the heater works perfectly. I am a regular wine make ~ 10 gal per month.January 8, 2016Great HeaterI bought this heater to help keep my temperature up since it didn't have a thermostat control I plugged it into a timer like you would use for Christmas lights and a little playing figured out how to keep the temp that I wanted. 30 minutes on and an hour off keeps my temps right where I want them.March 23, 2014Storage of UnitA few reviewers have noted the ease of damaging this product. I picked up a sturdy mailing tube to keep mine in. The ease of use more than compensates for it's fragility.February 13, 2014Works very wellUsing one of these for wine making. With a Johnson controller this is working very well on 12 gallons in a 13 gallon carboy. The whole thing is in a insulated enclosure that I built from shop scraps. Ambient temp in room is around 50 degrees and holding 71/72 is no problem. Actually the heater is rarely on.February 4, 2014Works okI've been using it all winter to keep my fermentors warm. I have it running of a temperature controller to keep a narrow temperature range. It doesn't seem that well made and I can see it eventually tearing or cracking.January 24, 2014equalizes temperature fastUsed in conjunction with johnson temp controller and stopper thermowell. Lightly heats your carboy fast and evenly keeping it at the optimal temperature.January 23, 2014Works but flimsyI've been using it this winter and fall to keep my fermentors warm and it does the job. _x000D_It's not durable and I can see it breaking after a year or two of use. Be very careful how you handle it.January 20, 2014Works goodThe element is a quality piece of material. It has good connections and a long cord. Seems to be very durable. As with any piece of equipment, you have to handle it with care as to not damage the connections or element.January 15, 2014Works wellThe element is a quality piece of material. - Customer Q&A
Browse 2 questions Browse 2 questions and 2 answersMy fermentation bottle isn't as wide as the bottle in the photo. Can I have the heating "sheet" double up on itself some without hurting it. Thanks.BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure if that would be a good idea. It may be better to put a layer of some insulating material between the "doubled-up" parts, so they are not overheating in that spot. I have been trying to find a definitive answer for this, but I have not been able to find one. So I think I'd play it safe, and not have two heated surfaces held together, for fear of overheating it. -Mike W, Midwest SuppliesHow well will this work for a stainless steel conical fementer with legs similar to the 7 gallon fermenator? Will it fit ok?
