Makes a good beer only reason for 4 star's and not 5 is I've gotten a couple of pebbles in it and can make milling a little bit of a pain in the butt. Other then that very good malt.

Superb Head Retention
The batch I brewed with Carapils has the best quality head and mouth feel of anything I've made so far. It may have added some sweetness as well, though it's hard to tell since this batch was already fruity from some dry hopping using Mosaic. If you've had any trouble with getting the head retention that you like, I highly recommend Briess Carapils. One caution: you need to do a full exaction at 150-155 F with an enzyme-providing base malt. The "Cara" in the name is misleading since it's not really a caramel malt and still needs conversion from starches into sugars.

Very fresh
Carapils is pretty standard for aiding in head retention, but I'm mostly impressed with the packaging. The packaging includes a packed on date and is resealable. Being resealable is great so that I can easily use a single 1-lb package to provide a half pound for each of two batches without worrying about freshness.

Harder to grind
This is one tough grain. I had to set my mill tighter and double crush this Carapils. It gave good results as my beer has a ticker body and nice head.

I think this is my first MM carapils, but I like how it arrived and it seemed very fresh, the most important part is that it worked great.

Wonderful Malt
This malt produces a wonderfully dextrinous body to any type of beer. I particularly like it in American Pale Ales and Ambers. The Maillard product makes a nice beer.
