This was my first attempt at a white wine (been doing reds for years). We have recently been getting into whites and decided to give this one a try. We are SO glad we did! Darker color, no too dry with only a hint of sweet, light citrus notes with buttery hints and a smooth slightly oaky finish. I did use the American Oak infusion spirals during fermentation to give it a little more color and oak notes. We are so happy with it, we are getting another batch as the first one is half gone already!
Had this kit in the past and the wife loved it. We ordered it and received it quickly with no hassles.
I just bottled this Chardonnay and could not be happier. Great tasting and can't wait until it ages but still wonder how could it improve any more than it already is. Well pleased on how it turned out. Followed the instructions to the tee but only put half of the oak chips in it since I am not a real big fan of the smokey taste especially in white wine. Red wine, almost alright but a little more picky in whites. My wine, my choice but happy with the flavor the way it is. Even my biggest critic, which is my daughter, said that it tasted like wine. For her, that is a compliment and I will accept it. She even had another glass to drink... :). Like I said, this one will be in my rotation of wines to always have on hand. This will be the 2019 vintage wine and will plan on 2020 vintage by this December.
This is our favorite white. We have tried other Chard kits and juices and we keep coming back to this one. Good oak (though we tend to add additional oak - we like oaky Chard's), nice and crisp. Reminds us of the barrel-fermented Chard from one of our favorite wineries.
