Beer. Simply Beer - IPA Recipe Kit

I have purchased this before with okay results. The malt was very dark, suggesting that it was not fresh, and the bottling sugar was as hard as a brick. The beer tastes okay, but it looks like guiness beer. It would be better if it were lighter and fresher.

I goosed it up with a pound of light crystal malt, toasted in the oven for 20 mins. at 350 and steeped for 25 mins. at 160 degrees. Finished product was great.

I've made this IPA more times than I can count. Always do a second ferment with one pack of Calypso hops, to make the brew a bit citrusy. It's my go to recipe.

I LOVE Beer. Simply Beer. kits. They have just what you need at a GREAT price. Nothing fancy, But still, great beer. The IPA does not have fancy hops, but Columbus, Cascade, and Centennial make a classic and delicious combination. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I am hoping that Midwest keeps this beer kit line - making it affordable to those of us on a budget!
