The key is to determine how many turns before the wire is too tight or breaks. Four seems to be the sweet spot for me.
For Belgian bottles containing Lambics under high pressure these are necessary. They hold in the cork so it doesn't slip._x000D_
I used these on my Belgian Bottles and tightened them with safety wire pliers. They seemed a little loose but tightened up after the corks mushroomed with the carbonation process.
Worked fine. Nothing special, but I didn't have any problems with these hoods.
I used these in conjunction with belgian corks. It is a lot cheaper just to use caps.
