Cab/Merlot

I like the way Master Vintner wines are processed. It's a bit different than most other kits and they come out great!

Amazing! Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot!

I made this batch a few months back and it turned out amazing! Every time I open a new bottle it keeps getting better! I’ve just ordered the 6 gallon Pinot Noir batch. Once I’m done with that, I will definitely be purchasing another one of these cab / merlot mixes!

So delicious, I will definitely make this one again!

This was the first red wine kit I made (only the 2nd kit I’ve made in total) since I’m a beginner. The instructions were very easy to follow and I’m very satisfied with the results. I used both packets of oak the kit included. This Cabernet Merlot turned out better than I could have expected which made me SO happy! I tend to drink a LOT of wine which is why I decided to get into making it myself. I was worried I would get sick of drinking the same red all the time since I don’t have a variety yet but honestly I’m down to 1 case now (half way through the 6 gallons) and I’m worried I’m running too low! My only complaint is that now a lot of the store bought wines I used to enjoy either taste cheap, too sweet or too bitter since my expectations have gone up after seeing what I can make at home! Highly recommend if you like a smooth yet strong wine with full body and mouthwatering flavor, this kit from master vintner is just right!

Outstanding, but be patient

The brewing process took 26 days. Instructions provided were mostly followed, except that only the 3 ounce oak chips packet was used (the additional 1 ounce packet was not). The 27 filled bottles were stored in the basement (75o F) for a bit more than four months. Other reviews of this wine suggest that it can be consumed directly after filling the bottles. My experience was different: a sample taken just after bottling was not satisfactory and was quickly discarded.. But after the four months of ageing, a glass of it was outstanding! It’s as good or better than the individual Merlot or Cab Sauv wines that I’ve made previously.
