Product Details

This stone has less resistance and therefore has an application where you don't want to use tube clamps to attach it to tubing. You can use this 2 Micron Stone to carbonate beer or to create an oxygen system for your yeast. Either way, this versatile stone will make your life easier.

Note: To prevent the pores from getting clogged, Midwest recommends not handling the porous end directly with your fingers.

Oxygenate your wort

It dissolves very small bubbles of Oxygen into your wort. I use it in my Oxygen system. But it blocks easily so never handle it and soak it in a small cup of PBW right after using.

Makes it easier for Oxygen to get absorbed by the wort

The tiny bubbles of Oxygen are easier to absorb than big ones. Eventually the stone gets blocked up and needs to be replaced. I soak it in Star San but even so, it eventually blocks up.

Better aeration than splashing

I got a real big Oxygen tank so rather than splashing the wort I give it a minute of pure Oxygen. This appears to have made a difference because my yeast don't slack off at the end and miss the final gravity by 5-6 points.

Perfect for quick carbonation

We use this stone for carbonating water, and it works wonders 50psi carbonated water within an hour. Works fine with 1/4" ID tubing, just be sure to soak the end in hot water first

Great Stone

This stone works very well; I've never had it clog. I always soak in star san as that is easier for me than boiling. I use it to force carb in kegs as I cut off the end of a diptube and attached it to that.
