RJS wine kits have always been very good, I am in the fermentation stage and is taking more time to reach the SG required. It is normal that this happen some times for different reasons. I am sure that it will turn out very good.
Wine is currently in the Stabilizing and Clearing Stage. Wine was very slow to complete Primary & Secondary Fermentation Stages….5 Days beyond the specified timing to get to 0.998 SG…possibly due to cooler than normal basement temperatures or old yeast?? Expect wine to be great upon 3-6 months post bottling aging.
Always a good product.
A dark, fruity wine with notes of violets. Naughty but not impertinent.Best when aged at least six months.
I rarely know what to say for requested reviews like this one. In part that is because I am being asked to review a wine that I have not yet tasted. It is sitting in a 5 gallon carboy aging. I will battle it sometime soon. And then I will let it sit for at least two years before I drink it. I understand that not everybody can do that, but that is my normal procedure with red wines. The kit look fine and all the parts were there. I anticipate no problems. Given the pandemic, delivery was reasonably prompt. What else can I say?
