One of the most elusive elements of the brewing process is the ability to keep a constant ideal temperature for fermentation. The Home Brew Heat Panel will ensure constant brewing temperature which is crucial for the success of brewing beer, wine, cider or kombucha. It is simple to use, just plug it in and set your fermenter on the panel. Use the panel in conjunction with a Stopper Thermowell and Digital Temperature Controller for the ultimate in temperature control.
Other uses: seedling tray (sprouts sprout faster), beer and wine brewing, foot warmer. 25 watts, 110v
I've been using it for about 3 weeks with no problems, works great!
Its useful in a cold basement, with a temperature controller so you don't over heat the yeast. Make sure to place the fermentor on an insulated panel, not on cold concrete.
I have a temperature controller to keep the beer within a narrow temperature range (the swing is .5 degrees). It generates enough heat if you keep the fermentor wrapped up.
Get a good temperature controller, attach the probes, and secure it and it works. I used it all last winter and am getting ready to use it again. It has no problems maintaining heat, and it you put it in a styrofoam box, it will not need to go on much.
It's worked well for me this winter. _x000D_It maintained temperature in a narrow range in my cold basement._x000D_I duct taped the probes to the fermentor, to keep it accurate. _x000D_You need a temperature controller too, so it doesn't overheat.
