4.8 / 5.010 ReviewsdigitalI love the digital age! I use this for everything! Mashing, checking yeast pitch temps, starters...etc. Well made and accurate. Just be sure to sanitize.April 30, 2013GreatEasy to calibrate, easy to use, easy to clean. Not only are batteries included, but they give you an extra one! I'm not sure I've ever seen that before in our world of constant cost and corner cutting.May 15, 2013Good thermometerVery easy to use. The only issue I have is that it must be re-calibrated fairly often, which doesn't take very much time or effort.January 6, 2013A must-have toolNot sure how I was ever able to make good beer prior to owning this thermometer, but it must have been luck. Much easier to use and less of a breakage risk than the floating glass thermometer most of us probably started out with. (My floating glass thermometer broke while cooling down what would have bean an awesome batch of brown ale.) Accurate, easy to use, and comes with an extra battery. About 20 batches so far and am still on the original battery. Only knock is that it is NOT instant reading. Takes several seconds to get from "off" to final temp. Suggest using a large spoon with holes in it to hold in place, else you might burn your hand waiting for it to get to final temp.August 21, 2017Love this thermometerWaterproof design makes it easy to clean and sanitize. I have found it to be very accurate when I compared it to my dial thermometer. It's also easy to calibrate using a cup of ice water.December 12, 2012AccurateSo far, I've used this for a full boil of an extract kit that included specialty grains that required steeping at 155 for a half hour. What I like: It gives an accurate reading to the tenth of a degree, was easy to calibrate, and did come with an extra battery. My only, very minor, complaint is that the clip that it comes with seems to be attached to a plastic sheath of some type (you can see it in the product photo). The instructions that came with the thermometer gave no indication of how that clip could be used, so I don't know if it's possible to clip this on the side of your kettle while doing the steeping.July 12, 2013Used when mashingI use this to measure the temperature of different parts of my mash after doughing in. It reads fast enough and is very accurate. It's a lot better than the liquid thermometers. Its easy to read, calibrate , and use.July 23, 2013NiceWell worth the extra $'s for a quality product!September 24, 2013A must for all BrewersI love this thermometer! I did have a problem trying to calibrate ... Kept giving me an Err reading. Then I noticed that the temp was reading very low (prior to calibrating). So I replaced the battery that it came with and everything worked great. Easy to calibrate. The digital reading is so easy to read. Buy it you won't be disappointed.March 23, 2014
