Product Details

This famous German style is stronger than an everyday lager and is the fuel for Oktoberfest celebrations all over the world. The original pre-industrial Oktoberfest was called Maerzenbier, brewed at the end of the brewing season in the spring to be lagered in caves all summer for fall and harvest festivities. Our kit will give you a full-bodied and elegant red-amber beer with a subdued German noble hop bitterness and complex malty profile that's great all year round.

If you enjoyed Oktoberfest Lager, you'll love this kit!

Never fails to disapoint! Amazing kit!

I have made this kit for many years in a row now and it never fails to disappoint. I have laggered it and I have made it with ale yeast and always got a drinkable beer that received many complients from others. It is a solid kit - it tastes much like the Oktoberfest beers I have had in the Hofbrahaus. It's an approachable beer and most people like it, even those who have told me that they normally don't like Oktoberfest. If it turns out too dark one reason might be that not enough water was used for the boil, or the grains were steeped at too high of a temperature. Try this kit, and just add brats and a big pretzel and you will have your own Oktoberfest party.

This ia an annual brew for the fall season

I have brewed this beer annually for many years. I find that a double up starter is critical to get the very best this beer has to offer. I have never had a bad batch but the larger starter has really upped the quality of the finished product. It never lasts long once it's done!

Wow - This beer tastes as good as it smelt when boiling down.Longer wait time for finish product but well worth it! Cheers 🍻

Lager process is longer

The brewing process went well, but I'm ready to try it! It smelled great!
The 2 month+ lager process is a long time to wait to taste the results.
This will also be my first kegging try.
Lots going on with this batch.
