Wine Fermentation Equipment

Once you have these batches in various stages of fermentation, some siphon tubing is needed to keep the flow of vino moving along. Add Siphonless Big Mouth Bubbler fermentors to your arsenal to easily transfer wine off the lees and into secondary fermentation. 6.5 gallon glass carboys and 7.9 plastic fermenters are great for primary, and a 6 gallon glass carboy is perfect for secondary fermentation of Wine Kits
. Smaller batches of wine from fruit or fruit bases ferment well in a 5 gallon carboy. Keep a 3 gallon on hand for split batches and specialty wines like Chocolate Raspberry Port. Remember that while you can use a carboy brush on glass carboys, plastic fermenters will scratch and give bacteria a place to hide.
