Although I have been putting all of my beer into kegs for years now, I decided to give 6-pack assortments to family members for late Christmas, celebrated yesterday, 1/20. Research told me that the job would not be easy, but this was my best bet. To make a long story short, this counter pressure bottle filler does work. Plan on purchasing the tubing kit and adding a few more fittings for gas, keg in, and keg out. Allow plenty of time, but it is fun. Follow directions carefully or you will experience unintended consequences. For example, do not ignore step #1: Close all valves. Failure to do so could possible result in a few cups of beer unexpectedlyspraying onto the counter top, back wall, and floor before one figures out how to turn it off. Just an example.
I've used a buddies before so I know how to use it correctly. I've had no problems with mine. Just to be safe I did disassemble and reassemble it, but I didn't find anything.
I replaced the stopper and it's now working as intended.
I completely disassembled it, thoroughly cleaned it out, and reassembled it. It now works ok, provided I use compatible bottles. Not all the empties from the recycling center work. With the right bottles its good.
I use my counter pressure filler with EZ top bottles and it's fine with them. It doesn't work with regular beer bottles, but that's not a problem for me. When I first got it there were problems so I disassembled it, cleaned it, and it's been working well.
